Hike the Blue Ridge Mountains!

Hike the Blue Ridge Mountains!

One of the best things about Asheville is that it's located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains! The Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway is a beautiful drive connecting Shenandoah National Park (VA) and Great Smoky Mountains National Park (NC). While the drive is stunning, if you're up for some hiking, here are some of our trail recommendations! Lane Pinnacle Trail: We've hiked this trail together during peak fall foliage and enjoyed amazing views of the Blue Ridge Mountains! It's a 4.1-mile out-and-back trail and generally considered a moderately challenging route. Craggy Pinnacle Trail: A short and easy 1.2 mile out-and-back hike with incredible views! Catawba Falls River Trail: A 2.3 mile out-and-back, relatively flat hike to Catawba Waterfall and the headwaters of the Catawba River. Historic buildings from 1920's are also along the trail! Check out our AllTrails link for links to the above trails, and more!

Brewery Hop!

Brewery Hop!

Asheville, NC has more breweries per capita than any other U.S. city! So if you're a beer drinker, you're in luck! If you typically prefer wine however, fear not, most of the breweries also have wine options! Some of our favorites: Green Man Brewery Burial Beer Co. (South Slope Taproom) Catawba Brewing Company (South Slope) Sierra Nevada Brewing Company (about 18 miles outside of Asheville proper)

Fleetwood’s Rock-n-Roll Wedding Chapel: Not only is this spot named after one of the best bands, it's also a vintage shop, has a full bar, live music, and a wedding chapel! Bella has bought some neat vintage clothes from here! Battery Park Book Exchange: A two-story bookstore decorated with art and antiques that also offers champagne/wine & small bites! Go for the books, stay for the bubbles! Well Played Board Game Café: If you love board games, this is your spot! They've got a selection of over 700 games, from the classics to new. They've got food, coffee, beer, and wine as well. Matt & Bella lost a game of Clue here to some good friends! The S&W Market: The S&W was built in 1929 to serve locally sourced food in a speedy manner but also maintain an upscale environment. The interior has since been revitalized and features six food stalls!
