Back in Fall 2020, Brendan and I were both looking for our forever people. We were both on the apps, and met on Facebook Dating (yes that really is a thing). According to Brendan I said something first, and our conversation was really nice. We talked for a month and Brendan finally asked me on a date! Since we both love beer, a first date at Yard’s Brewery was only fitting! But that wasn’t all he had planned. I had just bought my house days before our first date, (Brendan brought me a card congratulating me on this too… so sweet!) so he made reservations at Maggiano’s as well for a nice dinner! 😊 Our first date went wonderful, minus Brendan saying the phrase “to say the least” every other sentence. Guys… I started counting about half way through this date and he said it at least 60 times. 😂 However, his niceness outweighed his quirkiness so I went on a second date, where he said the same thing over and over again. My friends knew him as the to say the least guy lol. I still gave him a third date. And that’s when he said the phrase one time, and I said STOP! Haha. He had no idea what I was talking about. I told him what he was doing, and he put a kaput to it right then and there. He was super embarrassed but I thought it was cute lol. But I really liked him, so we kept dating, and honestly the rest is history! We have enjoyed traveling and exploring new cities, enjoying our summers at his family’s beach house on Long Beach Island, understanding how difficult yet rewarding a homeowner can be together, and just living and loving our lives together with our friends and families as a happy couple. On January 7, 2023, after quite a few hints that Brendan was probably going to propose to me this weekend on LBI (he’s horrible at keeping secrets lol), Brendan took me to a winter weekend getaway on LBI, and dropped down on his knee and proposed in front of Barnegat Lighthouse. And of course, I said YES!
