Red String Theory, or the "Red Thread of Fate," is an East Asian legend that says an invisible red string connects people destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstances, symbolizing an unbreakable bond for true love or deep connection, though it can stretch or tangle. Walter and Rani first connected by chance. Rani Belle was already working as an OR nurse and during her breaks she would with the aid of a little Bumble bee help her find her one true love. Rani stumbled on Walter’s picture. Walter came home from medical school in Grenada for a short mid semester break. Both exchanged quick pleasantries over the phone but it didn’t transpire more than that. Walter returned to the Island of Grenada to finish his last few classes. But the Red Thread of Fate had other plans. One year later, Walter returned home to complete his fourth year clinicals, despite the ongoing pandemic. The Red Thread opened the door, closing the thousand mile distance, connecting Walter and Rani Belle again. A first date was set on February 13, 2021. An early lunch was decided at Penangs before a major snow storm would begin. Walter greeted Rani as she made her way to the booth he was sitting at. Awkwardness and nervousness melted away as the date progressed. What was supposed to be a two hour lunch date turned into six hours. Only the two of them were eating at the restaurant for the entire time. Staff watched the two develop their love story as they offered them hot tea every so often. By the time the two left the restaurant, the sun had set and only the moon and stars were shining with no snow in sight. Fate had made sure their date went well.
