We've been in school with each other since 2005 when we started Middle School. We never hung out with the same group of friends, until a mutual friend's Graduation Party in July of 2012. We hit it off and Tony made it Facebook Official on October 6th, 2012 and the rest is history! We spent 4 years attending different colleges (Go Broncos and Go Green!!), lived an hour away post-grad due to our job locations, but were finally able to move in together July of 2019 when both of our careers moved us to California! We love to hike, explore and cuddle with our dog, Montana. We've had an incredible 8+ years together, and can't wait for a lifetime of adventures!
We woke up on October 10th with plans to go to Blake's Apple Orchard since we were in Michigan for the weekend. We had a busy day planned, as my grandparent's 50th Wedding Anniversary dinner was also that day. I got dressed, and put on a Tie-Dye jean jacket with fringe. I was also going to go without makeup because I didn't feel like putting any on. Tony convinced me to put on some mascara because we were "going to be in public", he also tried to get me to take the tie-dye jacket off knowing that I would probably not want my engagement pictures to feature this jacket. His efforts failed and I wore said jacket to Blake's. We were planning to meet our friends Kevin and Bella, so when we got to Blake's we got our favorite hard cider, El Chavo, and were waiting for a seat in the pavilion. As we were standing in the middle of the sidewalk Tony looked at me and started to grab something out of his pocket. I was very confused at first, but quickly realized HE WAS PROPOSING!! I looked around and saw Bella recording us and looked back at Tony and said "Yeah!" to his question of "Will You Marry Me?". Our parents joined us at Blake's shortly after, and our friends also threw us an engagement party that night. If you know me, I was very adamant on figuring out when this proposal was going to happen, and Tony still managed to surprise me (even after trying to get me to take off my tie-dye jacket and telling me to put on makeup). I used to joke that we would get married on 10/10/2020, obviously that didn't happen but I think getting engaged is just as great! It was a perfect day that we now get to share with my grandparents.
