Things To Do

We feel so lucky to call Raleigh home and can’t wait for you to experience some of our favorite parts of the city. Whether you’re looking for a great place to eat, a fun spot for drinks, or something to explore when you have time to kill, we’ve gathered a list of local favorites to help you make the most of your visit.

State of Beer

401a Hillsborough street, Raleigh, NC 27603

Although it’s named for its massive beer selection, State of Beer also has some of the best sandwiches in town. If you read Eric’s story on our homepage, this is where we had our very first solo hangout after everyone else bailed, and we’re so glad they did :)

Jubala Coffee

2100 Hillsborough St, Raleigh, NC 27607

This is Ashley’s favorite coffee shop in Raleigh! The Hillsborough Street location sits right across from the NC State Belltower, offering a stunning view and the perfect starting point for a quick walking tour of Ashley’s alma mater. Go Pack!

Big Ed's

220 Wolfe St, Raleigh, NC 27601

If you are looking for a good old classic southern breakfast, this is the spot for you! Think chicken biscuits, collards, and butter beans! Such a staple in Raleigh, and where Eric learned about the joy of having fried chicken for breakfast

Black and White Coffee Roasters

327 W Davie Street, Raleigh, NC 27601

This is the perfect Coffee Shop to check out while exploring downtown! It also houses a chocolate factory and an ice cream stand, making it the perfect mid-day pit stop.

Lake Johnson Walking Trail

4601 Avent Ferry Rd, Raleigh, NC 27606

If you’re looking for a way to get active while in town, we highly recommend Lake Johnson! The full loop is about 3 miles, entirely paved, and there’s even a sandy beach if you just want to relax for a bit. We walk here often since it’s within walking distance of Eric’s apartment!

North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences

11 W Jones Street, Raleigh, NC 27601

This free museum is one of our favorite rainy day activities. From live marine life to space exhibits, you can easily spend hours here if you have some extra time.
