In 2017, during the last semester of college, our mutual friends talked us into going on a spring break cruise. At the time, we both were not keen on the idea. After all, who wants to spend their last spring break with random people from another college? Luckily, we both begrudgingly agreed to go. To our surprise, it turned out to be the best decision we could have made. After meeting on the cruise we had an immediate connection. We soon learned that we were both attending OSU for our professional degrees, and even more ironically, that we would be living in the same apartment complex! As you can imagine, we spent all of our free time together. We quickly fell in love and have been inseparable from the start.
For our third year anniversary and to celebrate Spencer finishing law school, we were supposed to be on a trip to Europe, visiting London, Paris, and Brussels. Ashley had plans to propose while we visited Paris. However, as we all know, nothing in 2020 went as imagined. Instead of spending August 2020 in Europe, we decided to take a short trip to visit Spencer's parents in Nashville. It was there that Ashley re-created our first date, which was a drive-in movie. When Ashley handed Spencer a hard-copy of our favorite book (Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Café), Spencer found a ring inside. Needless to say, Spencer said yes. A few weeks later, Spencer surprised Ashley with a ring and a sign, which said "Will you marry me, too?" The rest is history. We can't wait to celebrate our commitment to each other with all of our friends and family!
