Question

Is San Miguel de Allende safe?

Answer

Yes! Per US State Dept. guidance, the state of Guanajuato (in which San Miguel is located) has the same travel recommendations as Quintana Roo (the state in which Cancun and Tulum are located) and Mexico City. If you feel safe traveling to Cancun or Mexico City, then you should feel safe traveling to San Miguel.

Question

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

We HIGHLY recommend flying into Queretaro (QRO) over Leon/Guanajuato (BJX). QRO is closer to San Miguel and more convenient for getting from the airport to San Miguel. Once you arrive at QRO, we recommend taking a shuttle or taxi from the airport to San Miguel. San Miguel is a little over an hour away from QRO. Once we receive guests' travel itineraries, we will begin coordinating with people who are arriving around the same time. This way guests can share taxis or shuttles.

Question

When should we fly in? When should we leave?

Answer

Guests will begin arriving the weekend before the wedding (Oct. 30-31). We thought it would be fun to make this wedding trip into a vacation, so if you're available, please stay through the week! There will be a small group staying through Saturday, Nov. 6th.

Question

What about wedding gifts?

Answer

While we have a wedding registry, we are not expecting any of our wedding guests to give us gifts. Your gift to us will be your presence at our nuptials. Please do not bring any wedding gifts with you to San Miguel. We will not be able to bring them back with us from Mexico.
