The price of admission is a bit steep, but it's truly worth it — whether you have kids or not! There northern fur seals, *several* species of penguins, and a beautiful octopus; the aquarium also boasts the largest shark and ray touch tank on the East Coast. But the aquarium's centerpiece is its gorgeous Giant Ocean Tank, home to the one and only Myrtle the Turtle!
If the weather accommodates, we encourage you to take a stroll through the beautiful Boston Public Gardens. The swan boats might not be open for the summer season just yet, but you'll be able to see the Gardens getting ready for springtime. And you'll be able to take a photo of the famous "Make Way for Ducklings" statue; Mrs. Mallard and her brood are Boston icons!
Come see where Megan and Evan had one of their first dates — and where they got engaged a few years later! The MFA is, in our opinion, one of the best places in Boston. Our favorite pieces include John Singleton Copley's "Watson and the Shark," JMW Turner's "The Slave Ship," an 8000 year old "vessel in the form of a hare," John Singer Sargent's portraits, Edouard Manet's "Execution of Emperor Maximillian," and a 17th-century mechanized drinking game, simply called "Diana and Stag Automaton."
This famous Boston art museum was built at the turn of the century by Isabella Stewart Gardner, a pioneering female art collector who is also, incidentally, buried at Mt. Auburn Cemetery. We usually visit once or twice a year. Unlike modern art museums, this museum remains faithful to Isabella Stewart Gardner's original vision: each room was designed and curated by Isabella Stewart Gardner herself. For true crime aficionados, this museum is also the site of the largest unsolved art theft in American history. The empty frames still hang on the walls.
We're not huge baseball fans, but we've been to a Red Sox game or two! And it is very cool to see the Green Monster in person. Fenway Park offers tours year round. If you want to see a game, the Boston Red Sox are playing the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at 1:10 at Fenway Park! Tickets are still available!
