I live in Stone Mountain, GA with my partner, Bobby, and three dogs: Amari, Huey, and Bambi. I first met Apurba when a mutual friend invited me to Apurba’s birthday celebration in downtown Athens. Despite being the birthday, girl, Apurba made sure that I felt included and had a great time. She was as welcoming to a stranger as she would be a long time friend, and that has stuck with me all these years. That evening sparked a friendship that has lasted 8 years and counting. I knew the first time we hung out that Apurba was amazing, but there are a few things that make her extra special to me: - Apurba has fun, no matter the situation, and her energy is contagious. If you need someone to hype you up about waiting in a mile-long line so you can pay just $3.14 for a pizza on pi day, she’s got you. - Apurba is the very best plus one at any event, especially if you’re an introvert. - Apurba will help you raise a puppy. Even one that’s as destructive as a raptor and wants to eat all the shoes. Rest assured she will sneak snuggles and treats when you’re not around. - She is extremely committed to not wasting any food. I’ve seen her scrape mold off a mango and save a single bite of food, “leftovers”. - And my personal favorite, Apurba is the kind of person that encourages you to be better and do better. Her kindness, intelligence, sense of humor, humility, and enthusiasm for life are inspiring.
