June 2015, me and a good friend decided to go hang out after work one friday. I was a big fan of what we called “Old school night” around town...older crowds, old school blues, and half off drinks. We were out having a really good time and decided to try our luck at a little karoke (another one of our favs.) As we’re headed downtown I stop to get gas and we notice two bikers pulling up right be side us. Me paying no attention I jump out and begin pumping gas til I notice my friend making conversation with one of the guys. Little did I know my friend had invited them to the EXACT place were headed. Upon leaving the bar, guess who was outside waiting for us?! Kenny and his friend with extra helments?! I like to think as an adult I should have made better decisions but I went right alone and agree to go for a ride. Soon after actually sitting down and talking to these guys I realized Kenny lived directly across the street from me all this time. Talk about a shocker, but to be honest at the time I thought “Wow thats weird” cause still at this time we had ZERO interest in eachother. But we begin to slowing build this awesome friendship. We even made a little deal that if he helped with groceries, I would cook enough for him to pick up and take home after work (he worked a night job til 9pm.) He became my bestfriend, we would talk all the time, vent about people we were “trying to date” and had the best movie nights with the kids. Little did we know God had put us together and we didnt even realize it. (Match made in heaven, I like to say) Fast forward to the fall of 2015, there was a new movie that we decided to go see together since neither of us had “dates.” As we are sitting thru the previews Kenny whispers in my ear “ Make sure you behave because this is our first DATE! And as you all know the rest has been history. I like to think your soulmate will find you no matter where you are...and im so thankful I found mine in the parking lot of the Mapco gas station❤️
On a hot summer Friday night me and one of my closet friends met up on the bikes to head to the clubhouse since we were members at that time. We stopped at MAPCO gas station to fill up and out of nowhere a black jeep zoomed by to the pump windows down music blasting juvenile "Back that thang up" (Most of yall know the song). We kept pumping and the girl in the passenger seat got out and was talking to us about the bikes and etc, so they exchanged numbers then we parted ways right after. We made it to the clubhouse and I noticed my partna was texting alot so I asked him "what was going on" and he was like lets go get the helmets from your house. So we did that and came back to town and went to the pool hall to play a few games and get a few drinks. April and her friend showed up a few minutes after and we talked and got to know each other a little better. I had introduced myself as Kenny but all she heard was "KEN", I'm not sure why that's all she heard but it stuck for a LONG time, but anyway so April got up the nerve to ride on the bikes and when I tell yall April yelled in my ear the ENTIRE time, she screamed the whole time the bike was moving lol. So we finally pulled over at a gas station to regroup and get some drinks out of the store while the ladies take pics to post on Facebook smdh, So we was getting ready to take the ladies home and come to find out April lived in the same apartment complex and in the building directly across from mines, what a coincidence right. That's when I found out how nosey April really was cause when I told her I lived in the building across from her she said "Oh you the one that be riding yo bike up in yo house", After that crazy night we continued to talk as friends and establish a great friendship we talked all the time and saw each other daily. After we went on a few dates we were basically TOGETHER but we never said anything, it was like what was understood didn't need to be explained. We went from being thousands of miles away and now we back to make this thang official. "I LOVE YOU April from MN to AL"
