Three years ago, our friendship started with soccer. Romance later began with a bike ride, barefoot dancing, and hummus. Our relationship crystallized as we started creating a life together - and we have decided to celebrate!
We are gathering all our loved ones to celebrate our life together! To reflect the life we are building together we want to keep things simple and fun - so a picnic in the park seemed fitting! The ceremony will take place at Old Orchard Hall and will be based on Iranian traditions. The traditions involve a ceremonial spread called the Sofreh Aghd, poetry, vows and sweets. We will explain everything as we go along! After the ceremony, we will head to the picnic area at Belcarra Park. Light refreshments and lawn games will be available, followed by a buffet dinner in the picnic area. Please note, as this is a regional park, we are prohibited from serving alcohol at this location but dinner will be followed by a location change! With full bellies, guests will make their way down the road to Old Orchard Hall for a cocktail hour! Enjoy our favourite beers and wine, as well as tea and some sweets. This will be followed by the couple's first dance, a few surprises, cake cutting, and speeches. Once that's all out of the way - we'll hit the dance floor! Please RSVP with a song request and expect a diverse playlist!
Our commitment to forever was slowly built upon infinite discussions and decisions, both momentous and minute, which didn't seem to fit into a single moment of "Will you marry me?" So our proposal has spanned many moments. Many morning kisses and evening glances, weekend getaways and foreign travel, moments of passion and moments of quiet comfort, have since been accompanied with one of us asking the other "Will you marry me?" The answer has always been, and I hope will forever be, "yes."
