Things To Do
Via Lido
A beautiful and posh area of Newport with waterfront shops and restaurants. We recommend Malibu Farms, Bear Flag, and Nobu! You can also walk or drive around the neighboring Lido Island.
Balboa Island
A quaint island in the middle of the Newport Harbor. Take the ferry via car or walk over from the Hyatt and enjoy the shops and restaurants on Marine Ave!
Newport Beach Pier
Newport Beach is known for its beautiful beaches! Head over to the pier and check out the bars and restaurants that A&C frequented as medical students, or go lay out at Blackie's Beach and watch the surfers! The boardwalk is very accessible and will lead you to the Wedge, a famous surf spot at the end of the Balboa Peninsula.
Duffy Boat Rental
Rent a Duffy boat and ride around Newport Bay for a couple hours! This was our favorite way to celebrate with friends after finishing exams in medical school, and we highly recommend it!
Crystal Cove State Park
A short drive down PCH, this nature preserve is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle, with mellow hiking trails and a row of historic beach houses.
Fashion Island
One of the best outdoor malls in Southern California! We love eating at True Food Kitchen and shopping at Vuori here.
Sunset Ridge Park
A great place for a picnic or a walk! This was our favorite place to watch the sunset and get out of the house during the COVID lockdown.
Balboa Bay Resort
Enjoy a drink at the restaurant overlooking the harbor - the same one where Chris proposed to Annasha on July 24th, 2022!
Newport Beach Golf Course
Enjoy a quick round of golf at this executive golf course close to the airport. Chris and his best man Kyle often go to the driving range here after they finish work.
Pelican Hill Golf Club
For those wanting a more upscale experience, Pelican Hill is an oceanfront golf resort with a restaurant overlooking the ocean and the golf course. A nice place to have lunch or a cocktail!
