Flight
For our USA family, we recommend not taking a direct flight to Gibraltar as it is a little more pricey. The best route would be to take a flight to London Heathrow direct. Then book a separate ticket from London Heathrow to Gibraltar via British Airways. If you have to stay 1 night in London for the flight to Gibraltar, the Premier Inn Heathrow is attached to the airport and is inexpensive and comfortable. Hotel details below. For our UK Family, we recommend Heathrow to Gibraltar via British Airways as well, without the extra hotel stay for a layover. Another option is Bristol to Gibraltar via Easyjet but schedule is limited.
Hotel
Premier Inn London Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 Hotel. This hotel is the one we have stayed at for our layovers. So you can use this one if you need to stay the night in London before your Gibraltar flight. It has reasonable rates and is only a train ride and a 10 minute walk to any terminal in Heathrow. They also have a Premier Inn at Terminal 2&3.
Hotel
We are staying at The Rock Hotel. This is the hotel that John and Yoko stayed at when they got married in Gibraltar. The room rates are reasonable as well. There are better rates around Gibraltar, like the Holiday Inn Express or if you want a 5 star hotel, the Sunborn Super Yacht Hotel, where the wedding will be held.
Hotel
The Sunborn Super Yacht Hotel is where the ceremony will be held, in the Wheel House which is on the deck of the Yacht. This is a 5 star hotel and you can book rooms here as well.
Hotel
The Holiday Inn Express is the most cost effective hotel. It is the closest to the airport and the wedding ceremony location and only a 15 minute walk to each of those locations.

Travel Note
Currency: The Currency is the Gibraltar Pound (GIP) They are only accepted in Gibraltar. The GIP is not recognized in the United Kingdom, although it can be exchanged for British pound sterling notes, at a one-to-one ratio. However, British coins and notes issued by the Bank of England are legal tenders in Gibraltar. For transfers and getting around Gibraltar: From the airport, it is best to book a hotel shuttle or use the taxis outside the airport. Gibraltar is only about 3 miles around so walking is an option depending on the hotel you stay at. We found Blands Travel on The Rock Hotel site and they serve 6 hotels: The Rock Hotel Sunborn Yacht Hotel Holiday Inn Express The O’Callaghan Elliot Hotel The Bristol Hotel Cost is £13 per person. Private shuttles are available as well. https://www.blandstravel.com/transport/ For getting around Gibraltar, there is a taxi app "Gibraltar Taxi Association" aka "GTA". It is available on iphone and android. It has recently launched. We were unable to determine the reliability of it but the GTA is the only licensed taxi company in Gibraltar. Their direct website, phone number and email is: https://gtagibraltartours.com +350 200 70052 info@gtagibraltartours.com In general we have found that because the territory is small, most people walk. For day of, we'd recommend to hire a car or book a taxi in advance. You should be able to get a taxi from the taxi stands or the hotel but information hasn't been reliable on that.
