Things To Do

We’re so excited to share a few of our favorite restaurants and things to do in the area with you! Check out downtown Rochester for some great shopping and dining options.

George's Coney Island & Family Restaurant

1437 South Rochester Road, Rochester, MI 48307
, (248) 656-0030

A greasy spoon that has fabulous breakfast and great sandwiches/gyros for lunch and dinner as well! Amanda and Bean’s favorite breakfast spot between their childhood homes!

Paul's On Main Street

630 North Main Street, Rochester, MI 48307
, (248) 656-0066

A family American-style restaurant with a variety of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drink options!

Rochester Brunch House

301 Walnut Boulevard, Rochester, MI 48307
, (248) 656-1600

The traditional ‘fancy’ brunch of Rochester. Great food, but there may be a line! Park in the southern lot across the street (address is 301 Walnut Blvd Rochester, MI 48307; metered parking except for weekends) and enjoy shopping down 2nd and main street Rochester afterwards!

The Meeting House

301 South Main Street, Rochester, MI 48307
, (248) 759-4825

Another trendy brunch spot with good cocktails and food right on Main Street! The Clay’s favorite! Park one street up, across the street from the Rochester Brunch House (301 Walnut Blvd Rochester, MI 48307) or in the 2nd street structure

Lipuma's Coney Island

621 North Main Street, Rochester, MI 48307
, (248) 652-9862

A Rochester CLASSIC. The classic Coney Dog- found in Rochester! The owner has been a champion for the legacy of historic Rochester and Tara and Amanda have visited there for a quick, cheap, and delicious lunch since childhood. They have a covered porch next to the Clinton river and following the path next to the river will take you to Rochester Park after lunch! Consider going to Dairy Queen less than a block up Rochester Rd. after lunch for an ice cream dessert! (also towards the park!)

Chomp Rochester

200 South Main Street, Rochester, MI 48307
, (248) 608-1054

Great salads for lunch or dinner (every single one the Lechnars have tried has been GREAT)! They also have great smoothies.

Main Street Deli

709 North Main Street, Rochester, MI 48307
, (248) 656-5066

Fabulous sandwiches and salads!

Penny Black

124 West 4th Street, Rochester, MI 48307
, (248) 841-1522

Great happy hour food and drinks!

Kruse's Paint Creek Tavern

613 North Rochester Road, Rochester, MI 48307
, (248) 923-2056

Great bar!

Rochester Mills Beer Company

400 Water Street, Rochester, MI 48307
, (248) 650-5080

Our favorite restaurant in our early dating days! Great lunch, happy hour, and dinner!

Kabin Kruser's Oyster Bar

306 South Main Street, Rochester, MI 48307
, (248) 651-2266

Kabin Kruser's, a bar at the front of Rochester Chop House is a great happy hour and seafood spot! Also check out Kruse and Muer's across the street!

O'Connor's Public House

324 South Main Street, Rochester, MI 48307
, (248) 608-2537

An authentic Irish pub great for late night drinks!

Rochester Municipal Park

400 6th Street, Rochester, MI 48307
, (248) 733-3700

A beautiful park with public restrooms, many places to sit and enjoy a sunny day, and paved trails. Visit Lipuma's, the Paint Creek Tavern, or Dairy Queen nearby! If you are coming to or from the Royal Park, there is a trail from the hotel (head toward the library) that will take you to the park and avoid busy Rochester road!

Rochester Hills Public Library

500 Olde Towne Road, Rochester, MI 48307
, (248) 656-2900

1. Free parking downtown. Perfect spot to park downtown because if you take the walking path West, it will take you beneath Rochester Rd so that you can choose to walk down either side of Main St. without crossing a road! It is across the street from the Royal Park Hotel and Lipuma’s Coney Island, in the heart of downtown Rochester! 2. The Rochester Public Library is a fabulous place to sit and get work done, if you need a quiet place. The best spots are on the second floor, where there are tables and chairs near the windows on both sides of the library when you walk up the main staircase (Amanda’s favorite spot is if you hang a left at the top of the main staircase (you will reach a couple nooks surrounded by windows), but shhh! don’t tell anyone local!).
