It all began in 2020 at the Zulu Ball, just before the world changed with COVID. The night was filled with music, laughter, and the energy of Mardi Gras. My cousin Kyla knew Clarence’s cousin Jordan, and through them, we were introduced. When I met Clarence, the first thing I thought was how much he looked like my celebrity crush, Shannon Sharpe. From the start, our connection felt easy and natural, even though neither of us was looking for anything serious at the time. Still, there was a spark that lingered long after that night. Time passed, and life moved forward until Clarence found his way back into my world. This time, he showed up differently—steady, intentional, and ready. He began helping me with things I had always handled on my own, and with every act of care, he made me feel safe and supported. He even convinced me to get an English bulldog named Choppa, who quickly became our baby. Losing Choppa was heartbreaking, but that sweet dog opened my heart to love in a new way and made me imagine a future filled with family. Even though Clarence and I drifted apart for a while, fate clearly had other plans. When he came back into my life, everything felt aligned. We became inseparable, and soon after making it official, I found out I was pregnant. Today, that blessing is our beautiful son, August, who is now three years old. What began as a simple introduction at the Zulu Ball has grown into a love story built on timing, faith, and the family we’ve created together.
