FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We recommend semi-formal attire.

Question

Are children allowed?

Answer

Yes, children are welcome! However, please be mindful of the number of seats we have reserved for you. (1 child = 1 seat, unless they fit on your lap)

Question

How many guests can I bring?

Answer

Please refer to your invitation for the number of seats we have reserved for you. To ensure everyone has a seat and a plate, we ask that you do not exceed the number provided.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4pm. Plan ahead for potential traffic and parking challenges!

Question

How should I plan for transportation between the ceremony and reception venue?

Answer

We estimate 30-40 minutes to drive from the ceremony location to the reception venue (although LA traffic can sometimes be unpredictable). We recommend carpooling with other guests or taking an Uber / Lyft between locations. Cocktail hour begins approximately 1 hour after the ceremony ends.

Question

What's the parking situation?

Answer

Parking at LMU is free on the weekends (yay!) and parking at Candela is valet or street parking (valet will be complementary for guests – yay!)

Question

Are the ceremony and reception wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Both Sacred Heart Chapel and Candela La Brea are 100% wheel chair accessible. If you should need assistance locating accessible entrances, please let a member of the wedding party know and we will be happy to assist you.

Question

What happens if it rains?

Answer

It typically doesn't rain in LA in August, but if we're really unlucky please leave extra time to arrive at each location (LA drivers don't do well in the rain and you can expect traffic delays). Our ceremony and reception will take place in primarily indoor spaces so you should have no problem staying dry.

Question

Will alcohol be served at the reception?

Answer

Yep! If you plan to drink at the wedding, please be responsible and arrange a safe ride home.

Question

What time does the reception end?

Answer

The party ends at 11pm – you don't have to go home, but you can't stay there!
