We matched on Tinder and after a day of talking I (Becca) asked Allison if they wanted to meet up for coffee. After our date we were both glad to know that neither of us were serial killers, although we also weren't sure if it had actually been a date. It took about a month of hanging out as friends for me to ask if those were considered dates (obviously they were). But, we consider our first date to be when I (Becca) asked Allison out to dinner in downtown Minneapolis. We went to Hell's Kitchen and then Trader Joe's (our favorite) for dessert.
I (Allison) knew all along that I wanted to be the one to propose first, but in November we both decided to speed up our plans a little bit. After we went together to look at engagement rings, I went behind Becca's back and asked the salesperson to lie about when the rings would be ready for pickup. So, while Becca was annoyed that our rings were allegedly delayed by a few weeks, I was getting ready to take a day off of work to pick them up and put together the proposal. Scout and Sebastian helped, of course. On December 9th, when Becca got home from work, there were rose petals, candles, and a charcuterie board ready and I was down on one knee. Thankfully, she said yes!
