Wedding Time!

On February 2nd, 2024, Amanda noticed a nice fella on bumble and sent him a message. "Hey! What is something you are learning about/ working on lately". On February 3rd, Allen responded, and after a few exchanges he asked her out.

On February 6th, 2024, Allen and Amanda met at The Cove in Vancouver. They shared ahi and calimari over a glass of wine. By the time they finished dinner the whole restaurant was cleared out, but they didn't want the night to end. They enjoyed a nice walk along the water before saying goodbyes.

Allen invited Amanda, as his girlfriend, to his 40th birthday weekend. On March 9th, Amanda attended a dinner for Allen's birthday with his brothers and friends, followed by ax throwing. The next day, Allen brought Amanda to meet his mom and Scott, and to celebrate his birthday they also went ax throwing.

In September 2024, Amanda and Moo (Amanda's cat) moved from Washougal, WA to live with Allen in Beaverton, OR. Moo was at home immediately.

On May 17th, 2025, while standing on a cliff on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, Allen got down on one knee while Amanda was staring out into the ocean beyond the black sand beach below. Surrounded by a lava field, and a glacier in the background, Allen asked Amanda if she wanted to "do this forever".... and she said "YES!!". They continued the journey exploring waterfalls, hot springs, fjords, puffin colonies, glaciers and volcanos during a heat wave throughout their Icelandic fairytale, before spontaneously deciding to spend 3 days in Gdansk, Poland before heading home.
