The big day is April 20, 2024 [insert 420 joke here]. The ceremony will start promptly at 5:00 p.m. followed by cocktails on the patio and a reception with dinner and dancing. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early; the ceremony will be quick because we can't wait to party with you!
The venue is called Vida Buena Farm, located in Vallecito, Calif. Search for "Vida Buena Farm" in your maps app, it is more reliable than using their actual address. A small town, Vallecito is near Angels Camp, on the way to Yosemite and Arnold if you're coming from the Bay Area. For those with farther to travel, there are several local airports you can fly into and you will need to rent a car or coordinate driving with other out-of-towners. You can contact either of us directly if you have questions.
Shuttle service will be available between Hovey Winery Tasting Room and the venue. The first pick-up time is 3:30 p.m. If you'd prefer to drive, there is ample parking and there will be several signs directing you into the venue. Parking is free and you can leave your car overnight and ride the shuttle back if you've tired yourself out at the party. Note: cell phone service is almost nonexistent, and Uber and Lyft do not run in this area. Please plan to ride the shuttles or appoint a designated driver.
Our requested dress is cocktail attire. Good choices are fun dresses, jumpsuits, slacks and a button-up. Ties and jackets are optional. The internet can help if you're not sure what to wear. There are no paved paths at this venue and the ceremony will be in a dirt-covered area. While we hope the weather will be gorgeous, there is a chance it could rain (April in California...) so a light jacket is recommended. There will be indoor accommodations in the case of inclement weather, though, so don't worry, it'll be great either way!
Of course, we can't guarantee anything, but it should be sunny and mildly warm. April is still firmly in the Spring category, so rain is a possibility.
The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors with dinner served inside in the barn. The dancefloor is outside, under the stars, and there is plenty of beautiful property to explore if you want a break from the festivities. There are contingency plans in case of rain.
The fun begins! Please head over to the cocktail area on the porch overlooking the ceremony site where we will have casual music, pre-dinner snacks and drinks. Dinner will be served afterward.
Please get us your RSVP by March 20th so we can let our vendors know final numbers. If we do not receive your RSVP by this date, we will assume you cannot attend. Thanks!
In order to allow guests to fully enjoy themselves, we have chosen to make this an adults-only ceremony and reception. We love your little ones, but we kindly request that you leave them at home or bring a loving caregiver with you to watch them back at your accommodations. Thank you so much for your understanding and we can't wait to celebrate with you worry-free!
We curated our guest list to include people that we know and love and we will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If you have questions, please reach out to either of us directly.
Check out our Travel tab. There are several options including Airbnb/VRBO. We recommend you stay in Murphys or Angels Camp to be close, since this venue is a little bit out of the way.
All the food at our party will be plant-based, and delicious! During cocktail hour, there will be small bites and drinks, and you can expect a delicious, filling dinner (and, of course, plenty of desserts)! Stick around long enough, and you might even get a late-night snack.
We are doing our best to accommodate all diets (we get how hard it can be to have fun when you don't know what's being served). All food at our party will be entirely plant based, but if you have other allergies or restrictions, please let us know when you RSVP.
We will have wine, beer and specialty cocktails, all of which are provided by Laura and Aaron. Please enjoy yourself!
You can find the details on our Registry page. Please use that page to ship any items you wish to gift us. Thank you!
We love photos! We do ask that you refrain from taking any photos during the ceremony as we've hired a photographer to capture those special moments. For the rest of the evening, we encourage guests to post pictures using our wedding hashtag: #AaAndLooSayIDo. Note: cell phone service is almost nonexistent, so you'll probably have to share your photos later.
We have decided not to have a wedding party so all our guests can enjoy themselves without the stress of participating in it.
