We would love to see our friends and family dressed up for our big day! Reminder that this is an outdoor ceremony at the end of November, so please dress accordingly. Our dress code is Semi-Formal and Cocktail attire. Semi-Formal: Suits, gowns, and cocktail dresses are welcome! Cocktail Attire: Wear cocktail dresses, little black dresses, dressy jumpsuits, and dark jackets and slacks. No jeans please! We recommend rethinking any high heels, as this event is in the mountains and there are some slightly steep walks to the ceremony site.
Topton/Nantahala, North Carolina at the end of November is on the cooler side. The average high around the time of our wedding is about 59 degrees Fahrenheit, and the average low is about 37 degrees Fahrenheit after sunset. Note: On November 22, 2022 (exactly a year before our wedding), the average high was 59 degrees Fahrenheit and the average low was 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
We love your little ones - we really do! However, we have opted to keep our wedding and reception an adults-only event with the exception of immediate family. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time so that you can enjoy the evening and celebrate with us!
Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding!
The ceremony will begin at 4 P.M. EST. We recommend arriving about 20-30 minutes early in order to find parking, and make your way into the venue and find a seat at the ceremony site.
Parking is along Wayah Road at the bottom of Nantahala Wedding and Events. Please park adjacent (no parallel parking alongside the road please) to the venue to leave room for other guests.
The ceremony will be held outdoors overlooking the lake and the mountain range. To follow, the reception will be held in a heated pavilion.
We are having an "unplugged" ceremony. We ask that all phones and devices be put away and on silent during the ceremony. We have hired an amazing photographer who will capture this important moment for us, and we would hate to have a well-intentioned person's device blocking that moment for them to capture. The greatest gift you can give us is being fully present as we say "I do" so we ask that you refrain from taking out your cell phone or camera for the duration of the ceremony. Afterwards, feel free to take as many photos and videos as you like! We would love for you to share those with us as well, and we promise to share the ceremony photos as soon as we receive them.
The brides will take pictures together along with close family and the wedding party. You will get to enjoy drinks for cocktail hour and the reception will follow soon after.
Yes! More info to come soon.
Yes! There will be beer, wine, and a signature cocktail!
Please RSVP by October 6, 2023.
You will be missed, but we understand! If you cannot attend our wedding, please indicate this on our RSVP tab so that we may plan accordingly.
We have provided a section labeled "travel" that has a few listings of homes and cabins nearest the venue for rent, as well as a Google Doc with a more extensive and all inclusive list! Feel free to reach out to either of the brides with any questions.
