To the Island

The Wedding Website of Abigail Breese-Young and Cory Kays
It's necessary to plan your travel from main land Puerto Rico to the island of Vieques. Below are a variety of options. We recommend booking whichever travel option you choose well in advance! If you decide to stay in Puerto Rico for a night or two prior to the wedding, we have listed some wonderful things to do and places to stay!

Flight

Cape Air

Cape Air is the main airline that flies directly from Luis Munoz Marin International Airport, San Juan to Vieques. These flights connect directly from the airport. If you want to get to the island as directly as possible this will be your best option, however these flights are the most expensive option and are typically around $150-$200.

Flight

Vieques Air Link

Vieques Air Link has small 6-8 seater puddle jumper planes which fly from either SIG airport located just outside of Old San Juan (25 min flight) or from Cieba (10 min flight), roughly a 1 hour drive from San Juan. The flights from Old San Juan are typically $85 and from Cieba area $40. If you do the flight from Cieba the taxi to Cieba is typically $80-$100.

Travel Note

Ferry

There is a ferry that costs $4/person that goes from Ceiba on the main land to Vieques daily. The drive to the Ceiba ferry station is about 1-1.5 hours and we have listed some taxi companies below. The taxi is typically $80-$100. You have to book your ferry tickets online and roughly two weeks in advance!

Travel Note

Taxi Information

Below are some taxi companies we have used in the past. Uber is available on the island and easy to find close to San Juan. Joel Felix Pena: Joel Transportation - 939-644-2817

Travel Note

Old San Juan

If you decide to do a few nights in Puerto Rico before coming to the island, we highly recommend staying in our favorite place on the main land, Old San Juan! The city has cobblestone roads, vibrant buildings, and a European vibe. There are plenty of amazing coffee shops, bars, restaurants, and shops. We usually stay in an Airbnb, which are plentiful, or one of the hotels we listed below. Hotels: Hotel El Convento La Terraza De San Juan CasaBlanca Hotel

Travel Note

Ocean Park

Another wonderful place to stay in Puerto Rico is Ocean Park. This neighborhood is walking distance to the ocean with lots of boutique hotels, restaurants and shops. We have listed a few of our favorite hotels in this area. Hotels: Numero Uno Beach House - right on the beach with a delicious restaurant Dream Catcher - a block from the beach, with gorgeous hotel rooms and a vegan restaurant

Travel Note

El Yunque National Forest

If you decide to stay on the main land there is a wonderful rainforest you can visit with beautiful waterfalls and views. There are many different organizations that have tours of the rain forest.
