The year of 2020 was crazy. When COVID hit, the last thing you’d expect is to meet your person. Thanks to mutual friends though, it was possible for Cayler and I. It was a Friday night when a friend of mine asked if I had ‘wanted to talk to a man.’ Given I was single and no actual intentions of actually hanging out with this person, I said sure. She then told me to reach out to Cayler. I added him on Facebook, and we started talking right away. He opened up to me right away, told me everything he was going through at that time. We talked for hours until I had to go to sleep because I was so tired. The next morning the conversation continued. It was that night we met in person. After we both got done running errands I agreed to meet him at his moms house so we could meet face to face. I was in the area and on my way home already. When I arrived at Debs, I met her right away. She was so nice. Cayler was sitting at the table as well. I walked over and sat near him. Instantly I felt comfortable around him. There was this peacefulness that he brought me. We talked for an hour about everything we could think of. When I left to go home I had only made it to the highway before I had a message saying it was great meeting me and he looked forward to seeing me again. Little did we know that was the last time either of us would be away from each other. The next day we got together again, and since that day we haven’t been apart. About 2 months later, as we were driving, he leaned in, turned the radio down, and took my hand. He looked at me and told me he loved me. I confessed my feelings then as well, and how I had driving myself mad about telling him or not. We agreed as long as our conversations could always be so open and honest, we’d be just fine. So, we became best friends, who became lovers, who are co-parenting to raise three little girls, and just enjoying life together. When the Fayette County fair rolled around in 2021, we decided to join my parents at Gary Allen and Sara Evans for a little bit concert action. To start the day we joined them at the campground they were staying at earlier in the day. My brother and I went to go get pizzas leaving Cayler with my parents. Now, before I get to far into this, Cayler and I had joked about marriage before and where we would do it. We loved the idea of Wyoming. When Jordan and I arrived back from getting the pizzas, Cayler instantly says we’re heading to Wyoming to get married. I then knew he had gotten permission from my parents. At the concert he tried to get as close to the stage as possible many times. Giving me the impression he would be asking at any time. At the end of the night he asked on the outside of the crowd. But not just once. He asked twice. Because he wanted it recorded. The first guy he asked to record was so intoxicated he only took a picture of himself. So, the security guard took over and was able to get the video for us. We look forward to these next chapters in our lives, and thank you for being apart of it.
