Abi & Kamaal’s love story began like every great love story: on a dating app. Even if an algorithm is to thank for their meet-cute, Abi would like to believe it was something much more magical (like her mom arranging this all from heaven). Though Kamaal wasn't quite the 6-foot-something he promised in his profile, the minute Abi laid eyes on him, she heard a voice say, "Oh, that's your husband." She texted her sister, Juli, who still has the screenshot somewhere. Kamaal will tell you he fell in love after their second date (and his mom can vouch for this. He called to tell her he found "the one" right away). After just 9 months, Kamaal proposed on a drizzly day in Barcelona's Parc Ciutadella. He admitted to practicing in the hotel's first floor bathroom. Abi said yes, plus or minus a few expletives. They now share two little cats, Saint & Roma, endless belly laughs, and a bucket list of dreams they hope to cross off together, one by one, for the rest of their days.
