Flight
Getting In
We recommend flying into Managua (MGA) in Nicaragua or Liberia (LIR) in Costa Rica. Managua is about a 2-hour drive from Rancho Santana, while Liberia is a slightly longer 4-hour drive. If you fly into LIR, a Rancho Santana driver will pick you up at the airport and drive you to the Nicaragua border. Then, you will go through the border crossing and meet your 2nd Rancho Santana Driver on the Nicaragua side. Note this involves physically walking your luggage across the border ( < quarter mile) from Costa Rica to Nicaragua. We typically fly into Managua, but both routes have beautiful views. If you choose Liberia, you'll get to drive past Lake Nicaragua and two volcanoes! We'll be collecting flight info to book your transportation to and from the airport. If we come across any good flight deals we will pass them along!

Our wedding block provides discounted rates November 4th – November 14th. - Per Rancho Santana policy, all hotel reservations must be made by August 9th.
Travel Note
Passport Information
Passport: U.S. citizens must have a valid U.S. passport to enter Nicaragua. Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned date of entry. If you do not have a passport, make sure to apply for one well in advance. Border Fees: Upon arrival in Nicaragua, there is a $10 USD entry fee (paid in cash). This is a one-time fee for tourists entering the country. When leaving Nicaragua, you must pay a $35 USD airport tax, paid in cash. (This is sometimes included in the price of your airline ticket.)
