We met in the lobby of a college dorm watching a Mariners game; Aaron was watching with a group of friends when someone new sat down on the other couch. She was doing a better job of coaching the team than their manager was... clearly baseball was her sport. Shared frustration over strikeouts and errors sparked a friendship between Kaylyn and Aaron's friends, but Aaron didn't say a word. One night, they were all talking about their "type", and Kaylyn said she liked a clean-shaven man. The next day, Aaron had a clean-shaven face, and that was the moment Kaylyn finally noticed Aaron. After that, the two started spending more and more time together; including exploring Bozeman by foot, since neither of them had a car, starting a softball team and working out together. Not too long after, in the dining hall, Aaron asked Kaylyn to be his girlfriend. The following night, the two had their first official date at Qdoba, which has led us to where we are today: Qdoba, writing this story.
Aaron knew he wanted to propose to Kaylyn on the beach. With a trip to WA coming up over the summer, he decided it would be the perfect time. Aaron contacted everybody in Kaylyn’s immediate family asking their permission to propose to her, and also asking for help planning the proposal. Everybody in the family had a role in the planning and execution of the big moment. While the two were looking out at the ocean, Kaylyn’s family ran back to a log behind them, and held up signs saying “will you marry me?”, when Kaylyn turned around, she saw Aaron on one knee behind her and the signs behind him. Of course she said yes and was enamored with the ring, which Aaron had designed himself based off her favorite styles. To add to the excitement, Aaron had arranged for Kaylyn’s best friend Sierra and her fiance Tanner to surprise her on the beach as well. Everything worked out perfectly, and it was a beautiful proposal which couldn’t have been pulled off without the help of friends and family!
