It's always a challenge when you arrive to a venue to make sure everything is set and your show will go smoothly. The Sheraton Commander for it's history, elegance, and staff are what WE always hope for in a venue. It's always a pleasure to have an event there. Judy, who is in charge of what happens at these events, is the ultimate professional and also loved by everyone from the the vendors to the cherished clients. The chefs and complete staff in general are all fantastic. If I hear someone would like me for the entertainment at an even there? I reply, when? Thank you Sheraton Commander. DS

We had our wedding at Venezia on 6/29/24 and it was absolutely perfect. Jennifer was our coordinator that we worked with throughout the entire process. She was so helpful and organized during the entire planning phase and truly listened to each one of our requests to make them a reality. The food was phenomenal, we have had so many guests reach out to say how delicious everything was, from the massive cheese display to the portion sizes of the dinners and the dessert table was HUGE. There was plenty of food and plenty of staff to assist all 250 of our guests. As the bride and groom, one staff member, Rob was nearby us all night for any single thing we needed and to ensure we were having a great time. He was so helpful! The timeline of the entire day went off without a hitch, once again thanks to Jen for understanding how we wanted everything to flow and to the entire staff for executing. There were no delays in getting food to tables and the entire ceremony and reception flowed smoothly. The newly renovated second floor space is STUNNING. We had our ceremony up here and it was beautiful. The venue has ocean views on both levels and a beautiful deck that guests were able to use during our reception. I can not recommend Venezia enough for a wedding or any other event - they are truly professionals and experts at what they do. Our day was perfect and we are so happy this was our venue.

We had our wedding in the Cupola Room at Woods Hill Pier 4 in late December, and it was absolutely perfect. Planning a Boston wedding all the way from Oregon could have been a challenge, but the team at Woods Hill Pier 4 made it so easy. They were incredibly organized and clear about every detail, responding quickly to all our questions and requests. Their professionalism and willingness to accommodate us made the process smooth and stress-free, and we felt confident everything would go perfectly—and it absolutely did. On the day of the wedding, the team truly went above and beyond to make everything special. The Cupola Room created an elegant and intimate atmosphere, with stunning views that added to the magic of the evening. The staff made us and our guests feel so welcome and taken care of—it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The room was setup to accommodate our small ceremony ahead of dinner, with plenty of space to have our ceremony without feeling cramped and then the same with our table setup. Our custom menus on the place settings was the perfect finishing touch. We coordinated a champagne toast post ceremony and Woods Hill Pier 4 ensured that happened without a hitch. For our tasting dinner with eight guests, the Lodge Menu was the perfect fit for us to select our menu, but still provide a balance for our guests to have their individual preferences. We added a pasta course, and it was such a great decision. This extra course really elevated the meal and gave our guests even more to enjoy. For the main course, we were able to pull from their main menu along with the Ledge options to ensure our guests would have the options they needed. Each dish was executed perfectly. Dessert was just as memorable. The wine pairings we chose from their cellar, including the Gaston Chiquet ‘Special Club’ Champagne and Jacques-Frederic Munier Pinot Noir, complemented the meal beautifully. In addition, the thoughtful blend of cocktails, and beer selections made sure every guest was happy with something that suited their individual preferences. Woods Hill Pier 4 exceeded all of our expectations, and we couldn’t imagine a better place to celebrate. The combination of incredible food, attentive service, and a beautiful setting made it truly unforgettable. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable venue, especially for those planning from afar—you’ll be in excellent hands!

We came across the Huntington Theatre very early during our venue search, but since the first visit and meeting with Esther we fell in love with the Maso Studio! We planned an unconventional wedding which involved merging Indian culture with a non-denominational western ceremony, and Esther, Abbie, Kat and the whole team made our vision come to life. They met with us as many times as we wanted, accommodated all of our odd requests, and helped our friends decorate the space on the day of. The bar team executed our Indian-style custom cocktails perfectly, and provided invaluable suggestions that made the cocktails memorable for all our guests. Since the Maso Studio had its own lighting and sound systems, we were able to make our wedding look and sound just the way we wanted. I was originally anti-hotel wedding. "How boring, how cookie cutter," I thought. Then I toured OPH on a whim once I realized I was priced out of my dream Boston venues - I was pleasantly surprised. Though renovations had not taken place yet, I could see what a historic, old-school Boston charm the place had. The pricing was also extremely reasonable by Boston standards (though I don't know how much they've changed since I booked in summer 2024) and included so much - dinner, open bar, cake, etc. I would be remiss if I didn't compliment Julie (who had since moved on) who really sealed the deal - her warm and friendly demeanor made it easy to imagine working with her. All of the other banquet and events staff I worked with (Latchman, Marshall, etc.) were equally lovely. OPH events staff really go above and beyond, they manage your event from start to finish, set up decor, and are super friendly and communicative. From what I understand, most venue coordinators are simply there to unlock the doors and make sure the food goes out, but the folks at OPH make it possible to have no or limited day-of coordination services from an outside vendor. The renovations have made this hotel and its event spaces even more beautiful, without over-modernizing. It still feels old-school, but just brighter and well-taken care of. The food was incredible (guests were raving), and while that wasn't a priority for me, it was a wonderful bonus. The city views from the ballroom are incredible. Only minor inconveniences to keep in mind: the hotel is OLD - so the freight elevator is small (some vendors had difficulty loading in/out), the wiring is finicky (the electricity in our suite went out a few times while getting ready, though it was restored quickly), and the fire codes are fairly strict (no taper candles, even with hurricane glasses). For me, these were hardly even issues, but it may be good to know. I can't say enough good things about OPH, I think it's a really underrated and lesser-known venue that people who want a downtown Boston wedding should consider!

We had our wedding at The Lenox Hotel on October 18, 2025, and I can honestly say it was the most magical day we could have ever imagined — all thanks to Katie Hellman and the incredible Lenox team. From the very beginning, Katie made the entire planning process feel so seamless and stress-free. She is truly exceptional at what she does — organized, patient, and unbelievably kind. You can tell instantly that she genuinely loves her job and cares deeply about each couple she works with. Katie guided us through every step with warmth and professionalism, answering every question (and there were many!) with enthusiasm and attention to detail. She went above and beyond to make sure our vision came to life perfectly — from the flow of the day to the timing of every little detail. The staff at The Lenox were equally amazing — friendly, attentive, and made our guests feel so well taken care of throughout the entire weekend. We also had our engagement photos taken at The Lenox, which made everything feel so full circle. The timeless charm of the hotel, the beautiful architecture, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere created the perfect backdrop — both for that special moment and again on our wedding day. It’s such a meaningful place to us now, and we’ll always cherish the memories we’ve made there. Our wedding day itself was absolutely flawless. Everything ran so smoothly that we were able to be completely present and just soak in every moment. It truly felt effortless, and that’s entirely due to Katie and the Lenox team’s incredible coordination and care. It was a day we wish we could relive over and over again, and we’ll forever be grateful to Katie and everyone at The Lenox for making our dream wedding a reality. We had the most magical day of our lives getting married at the Hampshire House in early May this year. Right from the get go, Hampshire House checked all our boxes when it came to what we were looking for in a wedding venue. It has that old New England charm, is located right next to the beautiful Public Gardens and is the perfect size for an intimate, small to medium sized wedding (we had 60-70 guests in attendance). Most of all, the food here is beyond exceptional and some of the best we’ve had. We are major foodies, and having food that was well-plated, generously portioned, and above all delicious and memorable was a high priority item for us. We were lucky enough to be able to work with Sydney Turnbull and the Hampshire house team. Sydney is the most kind, professional, and detail-oriented catering sales manager and event coordinator and thanks to her, all our venue planning with Hampshire House was truly smooth sailing and stress-free. Sydney constantly kept us in the loop with next steps in our planning timeline, offering thoughtful recommendations and suggestions for our wedding (such as floral placements during our ceremony, order and timing of toasts/speeches, seating arrangements, the list goes on!) She kept in contact with all our vendors, always promptly responded to our many emails, walked us through all the steps during our ceremony rehearsal —somehow making it seem much less daunting, and on our big day Sydney seemed to always be one step ahead, preparing and leading us through every portion of our wedding timeline in such a seamless way. Lastly, since our wedding ended late into the evening, Hampshire House thoughtfully held on to and organized all our florals, and various wedding signage and other items so that we were able to return and pick it up at the venue on a following day. This made it so we didn’t have to worry about anything at all night of and could end our wedding day with the peace of mind that everything was taken care of. Truly, we cannot recommend Sydney and the Hampshire House enough and if we were to do it all over again, we wouldn’t change a thing!

We couldn't be more happy with our choice to have our wedding ceremony and reception last weekend at CMAC! Adria was very communicative pre-event and easily adjusted our contract when we had to delay our date by one year. She also let us drop stuff off decorations the night before and pick things up the following Monday which was very helpful logistically. M ran our sound and lights and they were very organized and willing to work with us on running a playlist rather than using a DJ. We lucked out with beautiful weather and had our ceremony at the park outdoors but CMAC is really appealing because there's a good option for an indoor ceremony if it rains. The venue overall is absolutely stunning and our guests were raving about how beautiful the historic ballroom was. Great value for the Boston area and a perfect spot for a city wedding, with the airport and many hotels nearby.

Cambridge Boat Club

5.0

CAMBRIDGE, MA
  • Up to 120 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $4,000

Cambridge Boat Club is a social and rowing club, located on the banks of the Charles River overlooking Eliot Bridge. Originally built in 1909, CBC was picked up in its entirety and rolled upstream to its current location in 1947, to make room for the building of Memorial Drive. Featuring vaulted ceilings and dark exposed beams akin to a ski chalet, and double french doors opening to a full length veranda, CBC offers a unique, rustic setting for any event.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Multiple event spaces
  • Raw space for complete customization
  • Has a dance floor to dance the night away

Venue considerations

  • Does not allow pets
  • No on-site guest accommodations
  • Couple must handle cleanup and setup
The Cambridge Boat Club was the perfect choice for our New England fall-themed wedding! It is an absolutely gorgeous location on the river with just the right amount of historic charm. We had originally considered going with all-inclusive venues, but ultimately opted for the flexibility we had with the CBC to craft our own vision. The venue features two distinct rooms, a larger room called the Drinkwater room, which can be used for the wedding dinner, the Club Room, which was used for cocktail hour and the dance floor, and a porch, which has a stunning view. The layout perfectly accommodated both the party enthusiasts and our more introverted guests, who preferred quieter spaces for rest and socialization away from the dance floor. Opting for this venue requires a more DIY approach compared to all-inclusive options. Since it is a historic building, there are some restrictions to be aware of, e.g. no sparklers or ceiling drapery, and existing wall decor generally need to stay on the wall. This was no issue for us since we had a clear vision for the wedding theme and decor, and enlisted the help of Tastings Catering (highly recommend, since they have previous experience working in this space and also handle some of the decor) and Designlight. Major shoutout to Katie Donnelly, the club manager at Cambridge Boat Club, who always responded in record time to all our inquiries and provided helpful guidance. With everyone's help, we were able to create the wedding of our dreams!

We had a wonderful wedding at the Nahant Country Club. Yasmene and Heather were great to work with and our wedding ran incredibly smoothly. The venue itself is beautiful and unique, our guests had a great time. The prices are incredibly reasonable and we additionally received an off season discount. Their wedding packages include so much beyond the standard wedding packages including the use of the bridal suite, appetizers/champagne in the bridal suite on the wedding day, use of their (beautiful) centerpieces, a separate happy hour for the wedding party during photographs and much more. Yasmene went above and beyond on our wedding day- she even sewed my nephew's superhero mask when it broke. Many of our guests commented on how she was the best wedding coordinator they had ever seen. Overall, we are incredibly happy with our selection of the Nahant Country Club. It is a beautiful venue run by incredibly efficient and kind women!
