Born out of a passion for crafting art out of love stories, we know what it takes to have a good wedding just as well as we know how to document them. Weddings are our everyday studio; they are where we feel at home and can produce our Picasso’s. We recognize the inherent beauty of two people in love and let it unfold naturally because art is organic and we don’t like to get in the way. However, we will direct you when necessary, because we like to place you in the right place at the right time. We’re not omniscient, we just know weddings.

I never saw myself having a wedding. Never imagined the venue, the flowers, or the centerpieces. Never had any ideas about what my hair would look like or the dress I would wear. One night I was sitting with my mom and she said “I see you getting married on a beach somewhere, with just a few friends. Then afterwards we have a bonfire and music, and we laugh all night.” It’s like she was living in my brain- that felt so right to me- and I had never seen a wedding like that. I didn’t know that kind of thing was allowed? From then on that’s the only way I’ve pictured my wedding to be one day. That’s what I want to help my couples find.

When Andrew and Kathy were photojournalist their thief was story telling. As they got married and started a family, the focus shifted to their children and the couple used their creativity to tell a new story – first steps, trips to the park, birthdays. Soon, Andrew and Kathy began helping other couples tell their own stories, of engagements and weddings, babies and anniversaries. Those stories built the foundation of Yellow House Images. LBH Studios is a portrait studio opening in downtown in Plainville, Connecticut. The owner, Danielle Johnson is a New England who has been using her fine art, photography degree for over five years photographing weddings, newborns, children and families. Danielle has a passion for newborn photography and has received specialized training to learn how to safely photograph them. She has photographed over 200 babies and close to 100 weddings.
