I never saw myself having a wedding. Never imagined the venue, the flowers, or the centerpieces. Never had any ideas about what my hair would look like or the dress I would wear. One night I was sitting with my mom and she said “I see you getting married on a beach somewhere, with just a few friends. Then afterwards we have a bonfire and music, and we laugh all night.” It’s like she was living in my brain- that felt so right to me- and I had never seen a wedding like that. I didn’t know that kind of thing was allowed? From then on that’s the only way I’ve pictured my wedding to be one day. That’s what I want to help my couples find.

I started my professional photography business back in 2016, and I have been cherishing every wedding I've shot since then very dearly. Having photographed many weddings since then, the shine has done anything but wear off-- whether it's the father-daughter dance, cake cutting, or family photos, the genuine happiness, chemistry and connections throughout the day make weddings my favorite thing to photograph.

The purpose of documenting your wedding is day isn't just to relive it for the rest of your life but also to pass your legacy down for generations. Of course, your legacy isn't just those photographs of you smiling at the camera. But it's all the people you surround yourself with on your biggest day. All those little moments that build not only your wedding day but your life. Trained with a photojournalist's eye, I work to get all the candid moments on a wedding day. While also small chunks of time throughout your day to get those beautifully posed photos.

We are an experienced husband and wife photography team based in Minneapolis, MN, who have been photographing weddings since 2000. We are good at what we do, and easy going while we do it. Katrina is the organizer and people person. John is the quiet ninja that will photograph a moment before you even knew he was there. We have photographed hundreds of weddings and have traveled the world to capture some of the most important moments of our clients lives. We cherish these experiences and the trust our clients place on us.

I opened my photography studio in 2009. I love working with people and making them happy with my pictures. I capture single special moments and entire stages of people’s lives, photographing all types of portraits – family, new born, maternity, fashion, business head shots, boudoir, engagement sessions, senior pictures and much more. I also shoot different events including, of course, weddings. My first professional photography job was being a second shooter at weddings, so, for me, wedding is the type of photography that I feel I was born to do. I enjoy shooting commercial and fine art photography as well.
