People ask us what inspired us to begin filming weddings... It actually all started with our own! We were absolutely blown away with our own wedding film. It was cinematic, beautiful, and totally embodied our personalities and the significance behind our wedding. Our videographers were absolutely wonderful, and actually ended becoming lasting friends of ours. It was our experience with them (and our continued friendship with them and other incredible videographers) that inspired us to take the leap, develop our skills and begin capturing couples' weddings. We've since filmed almost 150 weddings and are loving every second.

We’re Cinthya and Maya, a married couple and co-founders of Sabores Komali, a catering company rooted in Mexican tradition and community. Chef Maya was born in Acapulco, Mexico, and has spent the last 25 years infusing her food with warmth, creativity, and cultura. Cinthya, raised in the Bay Area by Mexican immigrant parents, brings a deep love for community to our work. Sabores Komali is a celebration of Mexican identity through food. Named after the comal—a traditional griddle and symbol of home—our work is about more than meals. It’s our way of continuing the tradition of Mexican hospitality; full of love, generosity, and connection.

As the founder of AWE Planner, you might wonder: How did she become a planner? How many events do we coordinate each year? What inspires us about this work? For founder Jenn Greel, becoming a wedding and event planner was a natural path. Her journey began with bartending private events, and planning gatherings for friends, which eventually spared the idea of launching her own planning business. From our first wedding fair to signing our first client-who happened to be a coworker at the time-AWE Planner was built from scratch.
