I am Deseree, owner/baker of Sweet Haven. I am a self-taught baker and have been baking for as long as I can remember. I'm a don’t skip dessert after dinner, give me anything sweet and chocolate, kind of girl. While I have always loved all things sweet, my true passion sparked when my son was born in 2018. I made a point to make everything from scratch and wanted to plan and bake for his first birthday. His desserts and cake for his special day went off without a hitch, and from that point on I have been baking and decorating ever since. I used to be a divorce attorney, I had brain surgery, and now I'm a wedding photographer. Yes, you read that right. But there's obviously more to the story. Before going to law school I went to school for photojournalism and even worked for newspapers. After brain surgery turned my life upside down, I realized I wanted to go back to my roots as a photojournalist and I wanted to capture truly joyful, enthusiastic moments and voila - I fell in love with weddings and photographing them.
