These Terms & Conditions apply to Zola’s Invite-a-Friend program (the “Program”). These Terms & Conditions are effective as of December 3, 2020. For the Invite-a-Friend – Referral Credit Program Terms & Conditions applicable to invitations made prior to December 3, 2020, please see below.
The Program is a promotional activity through which current and new Zola users will have the opportunity to earn account credits for use on Zola’s Website (“Referral Credits”, and each, a “Referral Credit”), subject to and in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
By inviting a friend or otherwise participating in the Program, the referring Zola user (“Referring User”) and referred friend invited by such Referring User (“Referred Friend”) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, Zola’s Terms of Use, and Zola’s Privacy Policy. Capitalized terms used but not defined in these Terms & Conditions have the meanings set forth in Zola’s Terms of Use.
To participate in the Program, the Referring User must (1) have a bona fide user account on the Website, excluding accounts created by Vendors on Vendor Marketplace and “guest” accounts or log-ins created in connection with the purchase of registry gifts (a “Qualified Account”) and (2) invite a Referred Friend who is a Qualified New User to create a Qualified Account via an invite mechanism authorized by Zola, including but not limited to personal referral links. A “Qualified New User” is an individual who does not currently have, and has never had, a Qualified Account.
Referring Users and Referred Friends will only receive Referral Credits if the Referred Friend is a Qualified New User and completes all of the following steps as a result of an invite from the Referring User via a Zola authorized channel: (1) signs up for and creates Qualified Account, and (2) makes a purchase or series of self purchases of Qualified Products totaling $100 or more (net of discounts and excluding returns, chargebacks, taxes, shipping and handling and/or other third party fees) on the Website (a “Qualified Purchase”). For clarity, “Qualified Purchases” are limited to self purchases only and do not include purchases for third parties (e.g., purchases of registry gifts for others). “Qualified Products” are defined as merchandise sold on the Website by Zola, excluding Zola Honeymoons, cash funds, honeymoon funds, experiences, gift cards, and gifts imported from third-party sources. In addition to the foregoing restrictions, the products from the following brands are not considered Qualified Products: ABC Co-Create, ABC Collection, abcDNA, Crate & Barrel and Macy's.
If the Referred Friend does not follow the directions in the invite email or other valid invite mechanism to accept the invitation, the Referring User and/or the Referred Friend may not receive a Referral Credit, and Zola will have no liability to the Referring User or the Referred Friend. The Referring User and the Referring Friend must be natural persons and cannot be the same person (for example, by using a different email address).
If a Referred Friend is a Qualified New Member and creates a Qualified Account via an invite mechanism authorized by Zola and makes a Qualified Purchase through that account, both the Referred Friend and the associated Referring User will earn one (1) one-time Referral Credit in an amount designated by Zola. Zola reserves the right to change the amount of Referral Credits being offered at any time. Zola will post Referral Credits to the Zola accounts of the Referring User and the Referring Friend approximately six (6) to eight (8) weeks after the Referred Friend makes a Qualified Purchase in accordance with all Program requirements. The Referring User and the Referred Friend will each receive only one (1) Referral Credit in connection with the associated Qualified Purchase; purchases made by a Referred Friend in excess of the Qualified Purchase are not eligible for additional Referral Credits. Participants may earn no more than fifteen (15) Referral Credits in any twelve (12) month period, and Referring Users may earn no more than one (1) Referral Credit per Referred Friend. Zola reserves the right in its sole discretion to verify and adjust credit at any time prior to or following posting and redemption. Referral Credit must be used within six (6) months of posting to your account by Zola and may be used only for merchandise sold on the Website by Zola, and not for Zola Honeymoons, cash funds, honeymoon funds, gift cards or gifts imported from third-party sources.
Referral Credits are not gift cards, deposit accounts or other assets of the customer and can be subject to revocation in accordance with these Terms & Conditions. Referring Users and Referred Friends understand that Referral Credits are not transferable, may not be redeemed for cash, may not be auctioned, bartered, or sold, and may not be pooled with Referral Credits of other Zola users.
The Program is void where prohibited by law. Zola reserves the right at any time to modify or discontinue the Program, either temporarily or permanently (or any part thereof), without any liability to you. Taxes are not included. Should there be any tax liability for the accumulation and/or use of Referral Credits, such taxes are the sole responsibility of the participant. You understand that your account may not accurately reflect the Referral Credit you have actually earned. Zola will have no liability for any errors displayed in your account.
As a Referring User, you agree that sending invites to alternate email addresses or accounts or otherwise attempting to circumvent the Program is a violation of these Terms & Conditions and may result in forfeiture of your Zola account and all Referral Credits in your account and the associated Referred Friends’ accounts. Zola reserves the right to void referrals and Referral Credits earned if we suspect that the referrals or Referral Credits were earned in a fraudulent manner, in a manner that violates these Terms & Conditions or in a manner otherwise not intended by Zola. Referring Users must not conduct their own promotion in connection with the Program. It is intended for the referral of friends and family and not to promote in a commercial manner. Commercial accounts/customers are not eligible. You may not engage in any promotional, marketing, or other advertising activities on behalf of Zola, including by using any trademarks of Zola. These Terms & Conditions are subject to change and Zola reserves the right to amend them at any time by posting updated versions. Referred Users and Referred Friends’ accounts must be active and in good standing, as determined by Zola in its sole discretion, to receive Referral Credits. Determination of Program eligibility and qualifying referrals, as well as any exceptions, are at the sole discretion of Zola.

These Terms & Conditions apply to Zola’s Invite A Friend program (“The Program”). The Program is a Promotional Activity by which you may earn Zola credit (“Referral Credit”) if a non-Zola customer you invite creates and publishes a qualifying registry on Zola.com in accordance with all the terms hereof. No purchase is necessary to participate.
By inviting a friend or otherwise participating in the Program, the referring user and referred friend agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, Zola’s Terms of Service, and Zola’s Privacy Policy.
To participate, invite friends who are not currently registered on Zola.com and have never previously created a Zola.com registry (a “qualified new member”). You may only earn Referral Credit via Zola’s authorized invite mechanisms. Referrals outside of Zola authorized channels will not result in any Referral Credit. You understand that Referral Credit is not transferable, may not be redeemed for cash, may not be combined with other offers or discounts, may not be auctioned, bartered, or sold, and may not be pooled with other members. You will only receive Referral Credit when the invited friend, who is a qualified new member, completes all of the following steps as a result of an invite from you via a Zola authorized channel: (a) signs up for and creates a bona fide new registry on Zola.com, (b) registry has a sale of $50 or more processed on Zola.com (collectively, a “qualified registry”). If your friend does not follow the directions in the invite email or other valid invite mechanism to accept the invitation, you may not receive Referral Credit, and Zola will have no liability to you.
For each qualified new member you refer who creates a qualified registry via the trackable invitation path we designate, you will earn a one-time Referral Credit. Zola reserves the right to change the amount of Referral Credits being offered at any time. Zola will post your Referral Credit to your Zola account approximately 6 to 8 weeks after one of your qualifying new member invitees becomes a qualified registry ($50+ in registry sales) in accordance with all Program requirements. Referral Credit earned on Zola may only be used on Zola.com and must be used within six (6) months of posting to your account by Zola. Participants may earn no more than fifteen (15) Referral Credits in any twelve (12) month period. Zola reserves the right in its sole discretion to verify and adjust credit at any time prior to or following posting and redemption. Referral Credits may only be used on Zola.com for Zola.com merchandise, and not for 3rd party merchandise nor for taxes or other fees.
