Samantha & Christopher

Hello! Thank you for visiting our registry site. While Chris and I will be very grateful for any gifts, we already have all the household items that we really need. What we would love is to have a home of our own, and would appreciate contributions to a down payment fund. Our dream is a cozy little two bedroom cottage in the woods, where we can invite all of you! Thank you for being a part of our lives, for that is truly the best gift of all. To contribute to the fund with a credit card, scroll down the page and click on the photo with trees. Our Love Story: Chris and I met in Austin, Texas as AmeriCorps Volunteers. We were on the same work crew doing environmental work (invasive species removal, trail building, disaster relief, etc.). I was immediately drawn to his playful, compassionate personality (and his great looks!). I was amazed how easy it was to talk with him and how much I loved being around him for long periods of time. He made the most mundane work day interesting and fun. We were both interested in each other but were anxious about pursuing anything since we worked together. I later found out that he was also purposely being elusive to keep me intrigued. At the time, I assumed he wasn't really interested and started looking elsewhere. One night he called me after I had been on a date with someone else (a date that I had spent thinking about him). We went out that very same night and I stopped looking for anyone else. When our AmeriCorps term ended, I went back to Michigan and he stayed in Texas. While I loved being with my family and friends in Michigan, my heart ached for Chris. I realized that I wanted to share my life with him and everything else was just details. After a year in Michigan, I packed up my bags and moved to Asheville, North Carolina, where Chris was now working as a wilderness guide. It was a scary decision but one that I have never regretted. I found a CNA job that I love taking care of people with dementia, and Chris is earning his Master's degree in Social Work. We also have a silly old dog named Huxlee. I wish everyone in the world the love I share with Chris, my darling best friend.
