Amy & Dakin
August 05, 2017
Dakin and I know some of our friends and family will want to give us wedding gifts. But here's the thing- we don't need anything. We're almost 40 and just combined two complete households. We've been doing this adulthood thing for a long long time. However, we're both super worried about the safety of vulnerable people in the US, and today that's more true than ever. Instead of buying us stuff, we're asking our friends and family to give an amount of money that's comfortable for you to one or more of the causes below. Some are national organizations we trust; some are friends of ours who could use support; some are community helpers we know who are helping kids in Oakland. If you'd like to give us a gift to celebrate our marriage, please take a look at the listings below and choose your favorite(s)! This site will track your gifts so we'll know what our friends contributed. We hope we can offer a lot of help to others through this registry. We're good. Really. We love you!

Puck and Nat's Housecooling and Rebuilding Fund Drive
A couple years ago, our awesome friends Puck and Nat got married and bought a home. Less than a year later, they discovered their home had been a meth house. To everyone's shock, their insurance did NOT cover it, and the seller was not liable. They lost their home and many of their possessions. Today, Puck and Nat are almost financially recovered, and are living in their own apartment again for the first time after years of living with family. Will you help them buy the things they need for their home? We would love you forever! You can donate money to their youcaring, OR find Puck and Nat's Amazon wishlist on the youcaring page and buy them a household item or two. If you really wanted to buy us a rolling kitchen cart, now's your chance!!

Fight for Trans Lives: Sponsor a Passport
For trans people, a passport can be the fastest and easiest way to get legal documentation that confirms your gender. It's expensive, though. They especially want donors who can give $300-500, but anything over $100 is greatly appreciated. The website has details about donating at any amount.

Help us get rid of Wolfy's ear canal
Purchased
Ear canals suck, right?!?! No, actually our pal Wolfy has a mass in his ear canal that makes him get ear infections all the time, and the vet has now told us that the best thing we can do for him is an ear canal ablation, aka they just take the whole dang thing out. What he'll lose in hearing from the right, he'll gain in comfort. If you want to chip in as your wedding gift to us, we'd love it!

Help River beat Neuroblastoma - any amount

Can you even get over this family and how cool they are? We cannot. River's mama is an old friend of Amy's, and she's doing an amazing job supporting her four-year-old through cancer treatment and recovery. It has not been an easy road and River still has to fight very hard every day. It would mean a lot if you direct some love and support their way.
