Deuce and I met while attending Wake Forest University School of Law. We were both in Section 1A and had all of our first-year classes together. Thanks to our mutual friends, Camryn and Jojo, Deuce and I were introduced and became great friends. It was not until our second year of law school that we started dating. Two pups and two cities later, we were ready to tie the knot!

My friends, Jenn and Jaime, and I had planned a weekend in New York before I left for the holidays and Deuce was flying in on Friday. Although his plane was delayed, he finally made it. We planned to tour The Met on Saturday after brunch and do some light shopping in SoHo. After a subway ride and a short walk through the Upper East Side, we came upon The Met. Deuce got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Overjoyed, I responded "Yes!" and quickly saw family and friends emerge from behind umbrellas. Despite the rain, they stood on the steps of The Met waiting for the perfect moment. Afterward, we celebrated with champagne toasts and appetizers before spending the evening enjoying Christmas decorations around the city.
