Jessi and Tim met while playing adult kickball in the summer of 2017. Following a themed kickball game, where Jessi wore a pink child’s tutu and dramatically lost a beer chugging contest for first kick, the team went for a pitcher of beer to commensurate their loss. Tim while walking Jessi to her car, asked if she would like to grab dinner sometime. Jessi said that would be nice. Tim stopped and said.... "So... is this a thing, then?" Jessi smiled and said, "I think it is." After a hilarious and eventful Memorial Day weekend, they had their first date at an Italian restaurant and bonded over their love for pizza, beer, and endlessly challenging themselves. Through a deployment, tdy’s, business trips and a move that separated them by over ten hours, they are still going strong…. And the rest they say is history.
Jessi and Tim, both gluttons for punishment, decided to run the Chicago Marathon in November 2019. Tim carried the engagement ring for 26.2 miles during the race, with a plan to propose during the post-race celebration. Jessi, of course, ruined those plans. So instead, the couple enjoyed post-race pizza, beer, and cookies at their hotel in downtown Chicago. Tim popped the question in the comfort of their hotel room, lounging in bed while Jessi was balancing ice packs on her knees. And of course, she said yes.
