Madison and John met after the Auburn vs. Vanderbilt game on November 5, 2016. Our friends Holly (bridesmaid) and David (groomsman) set us up, and our first date was later that month at Ma Fia's and John Emerald Distilling in Opelika, AL! We started dating on July 22, 2017, and we enjoyed getting to spend 6 months together in Auburn during the following year. In 2018, John moved to Atlanta, GA and Madison moved to Birmingham, AL. We have spent weekend after weekend driving up and down I-20 to see each other. John proposed at the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC on May 1, 2020! While we have spent most of our relationship doing long distance, we are so grateful to have grown together and in Christ, and are looking forward to marriage and finally getting to live in the same city!
