Designed in the 1890s, our beautiful historic building located on the University of Pennsylvania’s campus is one of Philadelphia’s premier unique venues. Penn Museum is a 300,000 square-foot gem with exterior details including glass mosaics by the Tiffany Glass Company, sculptures by Alexander Stirling Calder, and marble medallions by John Ross of New York City. Stunning event space and priceless collections make the Penn Museum an unparalleled event experience! The Penn Museum is the only venue where you can dine and dance among the artifacts. Perfect Venue for a Unique Wedding

When looking at wedding venues we knew that we wanted somewhere that could host all of our wedding day events - ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. But we also wanted a venue that would wow our guests. The Penn Museum was the first place we looked and all other venues fell short of its beauty and the energy, professionalism, and enthusiasm of event staff. Our coordinator, Allison, was helpful throughout the whole planning process - she was responsive and accommodating, offering to take us around as many times as we needed. Our wedding day ran smoothly in large part due to her and her catering counterpart, Grace. If you are looking for a one of a kind wedding experience with a truly wonderful staff, look no further than the Penn Museum.

Our wedding day was something out of a dream, and my husband and I cannot stop talking about it over one month later. The Penn Museum was absolutely the highlight of our wedding. From the ceremony space (Sphinx gallery!), to our cocktail hour (Pepper Hall), dinner in the Chinese Rotunda, and dancing with the mummies… the whole thing was breathtaking from start to finish. It was everything I had imagined and I wish we could do it over and over again. Atiya was simply the best, and I know I will be reminiscing on this day for years to come.

Our wedding spanned five different exhibits/areas of the Penn Museum -- from a procession in the Stoner Courtyard to the ceremony in Pepper Hall, to cocktail hour in the Lower Level Egypt exhibit (where the Sphinx used to be), to dinner in the Chinese Rotunda, and finally dancing in the Upper Level Egypt exhibit. Being surrounded by the galleries in a beautiful venue made for a unique and unforgettable event! Everything went smoothly thanks to the thoughtfulness and attentiveness of Atiya German and Michelle Bach (CxRA). They helped us accomplish our vision for our wedding, and were accommodating to our special needs for food, decor, a few young children in attendance, clothing changes, an unexpected light rain on the wedding day, and even a horse at the procession! Prices were very reasonable, especially when compared to other similar venues in Philly, and we were only ever charged for what we used. I highly recommend Penn Museum and working with Atiya in particular.

The Penn Museum's peak season is March, April, May, early June, late September and October.

The Penn Museum's off-peak season is January, February, late June, July, August, early September, November and December.

The Penn Museum has an exclusive caterer, Catering by Restaurant Associates (CxRA), so all alcohol purchases are through CxRA.

There is a parking garage located next door to the Penn Museum. The cost to park is $12 after 5pm or on the weekends. The garage is not owned by the Museum, so parking is not validated. Parking arrangements must be made through Penn Parking Authority.

Yes, the Penn Museum is accessible.

The Penn Museum's rental fee during peak season range from $3,500 to $4,500. Included in the venue fee is access to all of the Museum's event spaces for up to 5 hours and security and housekeeping coverage.

The rental fee is for up to 5 hours. Each additional hour is $500.

The Penn Museum is open to the public until 5pm, so weddings start any time after 5pm and do not go past midnight. Vendors begin loading in around 3pm to start setting up.

If the wedding is cancelled, the Museum will retain all amounts required to be paid as liquidated damages and not as a penalty, it being understood that the liquidated damages amount is a reasonable estimate of the Museum’s damages resulting from such cancellation.

Yes, the Penn Museum requires event insurance coverage of up to $2 million.

Yes, the couple will have access to two classrooms that can be used to prepare for the wedding, which will be accessible throughout the evening.
