Nestled on the corner of Aviles Street and Artillery Lane in the heart of downtown St. Augustine, Florida, this venue is located on the oldest street in the nation, renowned for its original Arts District and horse-drawn carriage rides. We highly suggest that you have an event planner/coordinator to ensure that your event turns out the way you envision. A day-of coordinator (minimal) will allow the couple and family to focus on enjoying a stress-free event, since the coordinator is making sure all of the details are organized. We can recommend local wedding coordinators from our preferred list. Although, there will be a venue manager on-site during your event, we do not act as a coordinator. ALL vendors provide proof of insurance for liability purposes.
Yes! 9 Aviles has created an approved vendor list for catering, which includes some of the best professional caterers in the St. Augustine and Jacksonvilles area. All vendors are licensed and insured to protect all parties.
All food and beverage service (except for cake or desserts) must be provided by one of the approved caterers on our list.
Can we serve our own alcohol? 9 Aviles is an event venue, therefore, all alcohol must be served by a licensed & insured bartender that serves at a "host bar". A host bar makes things easy and economical since you purchase the alcohol you want served from an alcohol package store. We have a favorite, vetted mobile bar tending service and will provide you contact information. They provide glassware, garnishes, mixers, napkins, etc...
We've got an awesome approved DJ that coordinates his equipment and software seamlessly with ours. With so many hobby DJ's, we decided it was much easier for everyone to have a professional DJ available that can run our professional light and sound system. Our sound and light system is something that many venues do not offer or include, so it's a win/win situation for you! The payment and contract is made directly with the DJ.

Wedding events at 9 Aviles often include several vendors and table setups, which allows the maximum guest count to be no more than 60.-64. However, 50 is ideal with a DJ and dance floor. For events that include the wedding ceremony at 9 Aviles, the guest count should be no more than 36 to allow for a comfortable room transition between ceremony and reception. Dance floor and catering style such as plated, buffet, or family style are also determining factors.
Rental time for a ceremony and reception is 8 hours, from the start of setup to the end of breakdown. Up to two hours of early access time may be arranged at the cost of $300/hour. One additional hour of extra event time may be arranged in advance only for $300, but remember your vendors will have to agree and will also charge.
Yes! 9 Aviles has beautiful grand fireplace that allows for a picturesque backdrop. Your ceremony booking also includes rehearsal time. Most rehearsals occur the day before your event. Depending on our event schedule we try to be flexible and will secure a time a few weeks out from the ceremony date.
To maintain the beauty, intergrity, and safety of our wonderful venue and property, we do have decorating restrictions. Décor cannot be adhered to drywall or coquina walls, floor, ceilings, beams, doors, or fireplace. If there is a banner or sign that you would like to hang please discuss with 9 Aviles management to see if we can accommodate the request by placing and securing the proper hardware. Open flame candles are not allowed (*Candles must be enclosed in a votive or holder), smoke machines, sparklers, glitter, confetti, balloons, birdseed, and animals (including live birds) are not permitted inside the building.
Paid parking reservations for up to 60 spaces may be available at the Trinity Episcopal Church. Parking deck and metered parking spots are also available. There are also shuttle services available to and from parking lots or your hotel. Guests often like to leave the venue on foot and go enjoy the nightlife and sightsee. Shuttles by app are available all over town.
A 33% non-refundable deposit will reserve the date and a contract must be signed shortly thereafter. All deposits can be made by cash, any major credit card, or check made payable to 9 Aviles ,LLC.. We prefer easy payment by credit card over a secured site.
The remaining 33% balance is due 30 days before you event.
Clients are required to obtain a certificate of liability insurance (with host bar liability) showing limits of $1,000,000, for bodily injury and property damage, naming 9 Aviles, LLC as additional insured.
Yes, a 9 Aviles venue manager will be present for the duration of each event. They are responsible for handling any venue-related issues, but do not assist with any vendor or personal décor setup.
