About Shutter and Sound
Shutter & Sound
Hi! Courtney here (that's me on the left!). Shutter and Sound is the brainchild of renowned wedding videographer Ryan Geldermann. Ryan began his wedding videography career in 2010 in Los Angeles and quickly became recognized as one of the top videographers in the U.S.. After relocating to DC and still receiving countless inquiries from all corners of the country, Ryan decided to recruit and train a few talented friends so he could continue offering the quality wedding videography he’s known for in SoCal and eventually over 10 cities. Shutter and Sound is a very small group of filmmakers dedicated to turning your big day into a work of art.
Unlike similar companies, we do not book every couple that inquires, then scramble to hire random contractors to film those weddings. While that may result in more revenue for those companies, it also ultimately results in unpredictable and inconsistent quality. Instead, we partner with a very select few videographers that shoot all of our weddings. They are trained in our filming and editing style so you (and we) can be confident that what you see on our website is what you will receive. We are a tight-knit family obsessed with quality control and customer service.

5/17/24 - Willowdale Estate Wedding
The Shutter and Sound team was great from the moment we arrived at the venue until the party was over! Not only did they capture some great shots, but they were very easy to work with and never took any of our time away from our guests and the party at all! Also, they worked great with our photographer despite it being their first time working together which made everything super seamless for us. I would definitely recommend.
Sublime short film that we adore!
Shutter and Sound was a dream to work with. We booked a videographer late in the game after I heard from so many of my friends that their one regret was missing out and chose S&S after reviewing their videos (we wanted to avoid cheesy) and seeing that their packages offered significant value. They coordinated well with our planner and we honestly forgot they were even there most of the time. But the video they made of our wedding was exceptional. Both my new spouse and I are very camera shy and wanted something that would focus more on the day and the people in it and they were able to adapt to that, which left us with a lot more time to enjoy our wedding and less time on posing. The edit and photography was top notch and everyone who has seen it was genuinely touched by some of the very warm human moments that were captured and the gorgeousness of the colors and movement in the film. One thing we really adored was the used of drones to cover our event as well as some great moving shots in the church. Another bonus is the ability to add raw footage to packages, which was very important to me as I wanted to also keep them for family memories later on. Overall we were so happy we made the choice to hire them and they brought a ray of sunshine as we were drafting thank you notes and getting through a little bit of wedding blues lol. Can’t recommend them more!
Amazing videographers!!
My husband and I recently got married on 10/22/22 in Connecticut and were blown away by the Shutter and Sound team from beginning to end. We worked with Kylee throughout the planning process and she was very kind, thorough, responsive and overall just very helpful. On the day of, Shane and his 2nd shooter did an outstanding job. They were so friendly, easy to work with and got so many great shots. We just got our highlight video back and can't stop watching it. We've also received so many compliments on the video and what and incredible job our videographers did. Shutter and Sound, you truly exceeded all of our expectations and we are so happy we got to work with you!! Thank you for everything and capturing the best day of our lives so perfectly!!

We are so happy to have found Shutter & Sound and use them to capture our wedding day so perfectly! Also I am so impressed with how quickly we received our highlight video…it was great to relive the day all over again so soon. We had 2 videographers who arrived right on time, weren’t in the way at all, worked together seamlessly with our photographers, and were fun to spend the day with. The video and quality were both so great and the song was a great choice to really put it all together. Seriously cannot recommend them enough! The were so communicative and friendly throughout the entire process too which just makes the overall experience that much better!
